The Phase 2 Ulster Canal Greenway project has secured funding of €4.95m through the INTERREG VA Sustainable Transport measure. This is just 1 of 3 Greenway Projects being funded through the INTERREG VA programme – our sister projects are the Northwest Greenway in Donegal/Derry, and the Carlingford Lough Greenway between Newry and Carlingford.
The INTERREG VA programme is being managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
To deliver this project, a formal partnership has been established between Waterways Ireland (Lead Partner), Monaghan County Council, Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and East Border Region Ltd.
Monaghan County Council is the main delivery agent for the project and is responsible for procurement and day-to-day running of the project. Roisin Moore (Nic An Iarla) has been appointed by Monaghan County Council as the Project Manager for the Project – Roisin can be contacted via the Ulster Canal Greenway Project office, Monaghan County Council, the Glen, Monaghan, +353 (0)47 73785.
